This new one-shot ties up all the loose ends from the old Ectokid series, as well as serving as a "perfect jumping-on point for new readers," according to Marc. The story has Dex engaged in "a final confrontation with Ice Augustine - the man who killed his mother and father!" Ectokid Unleashed is brought to you by the writing team of Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning with art by Hector Gomez. Marc promised that the one-shot would feature the death of Ectokid - and his rebirth! In closing, Marc added, "People should buy it, or I'll come to their homes and do mean things to their pets!"
